This is the kind of book that, upon a finished reading, makes you question who the author is just as much, if not more than the characters themselves. Most of the time, having an unlikable main character is a bold choice and most authors choose that risk in order to critique something larger. Other times, they encourage the readers to push through aversion to eventually find some redeeming qualities in a character.
