god, this hit home on the often tumultuous relationship between an immigrant Asian mother and her oldest daughter; there were so many instances that felt a bit too personal, directly reflecting my own experiences with my culture, my parents, my extended family

the grief too, was palpable, and I fear the day of my own reckoning
