5⭐️ Review:
If I’m being honest, I feel the best way to convince anyone to read this book is by me saying that I will not tell you a single detail about it.
I want you to go into this book just as I did. Blind.
I discovered this book through BookTok, but knew only what the cover looked like and that everyone swore by it. Going into it knowing nothing was the best decision I made.
The plot. The quotes. The characters. The relationships. Everything about this book was done precisely so that every wor ...more

EDIT: Conflicted because I SO wanted to love this book, but only really kind of liked it (not enough to love it). I loved Evelyn and Harry’s undying friendship the most and liked how some of the characters were really layered and complex (I both loved and really disliked Evelyn and Celia as characters), but it still just felt like the story was missing something?? I’m not sure what, but somehow the big reveal at the end and the events after that didn’t shock me, even if I wasn’t entirely expecti

Amazing book, love it 🥰 I'm so glad for my bookclub for making me read this book, I was a little apprehensive at the start because I thought I wouldn't like it as much, and at the start it was a bit slow but once you get to the good parts I couldn't put it down 💖🥺

fucking chills.
A story about the pains of being a member of the LGBTQ community, the stigma around it, the discrimination and judgement when you don’t fit into the societal standard of ‘normal’. The sacrifice and pain to make it to stardom and the different kinds of love you experience in your life. Evelyn’s story was really heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. This book had me on the edge of my seat with anticipation of what comes next. Her life wasn’t black and white and she was awar ...more

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK I WOULD MARRY IT IF I COULD!!! i waited so long to read it and i’m so angry that i did that bc i was seriously missing out on one of the best books ever known to the world. evelyn hugo’s story is one to be classified as sad, beautiful, tragic, as miss taylor swift would say.
