Very cute coming of age story. Our book club collectively rated it a 4.5 stars. Loved the journey across America. Loved the ending. Loved the animals. Loved the history of the dust bowl, something that maybe occupied a page of our history text books in high school. Only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star review is that it read a bit like a YA novel, and I wanted a bit more…”rawness”?
