The Seth books became popular in the 1970's. Seth was a disembodied entity who communicated through a woman named Jane Roberts when she was in a trance state. Her husband Robert took notes of what Seth said through Jane, and often they had other people in the room. So it's easy to say it's BS, but there were too many witnesses. Seth spoke about reincarnation, how death is only a transition, how we can astral travel every night instead of sleep, and lots of other things. It's fascinating stuff.

I wasn't sure what to make of this work at first. It is a New Age reference by a woman that used to write science fiction and fantasy novels. She tried her hand at channeling and found she could do it, and progressively got better. Eventually she started channeling this spirit called Seth, which is a being that has reportedly never been born on earth, and is a being of pure energy.
