this deserves all the hype it gets, and more.

i didn't love Caraval, it was an ok trilogy, but i still adored this (the mc from Caraval make an appearance, but that's about it) somehow whenever i was reading it, i felt like i was in a fairytale. the quotes are amazing, Evangeline is a great mc, and i get ALL the hype about Jacks now. ...more

This book was the perfect little fairytale. I haven't read a fantasy in a while that had this feeling of mystical and hopeless romantic to it. At first, I wasn't really seeing all the hype behind Jacks, but after the second half, I could definitely see it. I can't wait to read The Ballad of Never After! this book was out of my comfort zone but I surprisingly enjoyed it! I’ve never read Caraval, but I was able to get into the world relatively easily. So many twists and I liked the complexity of the characters!
