You guys, I think I’m incapable of writing a review for this book. The grip it had on my heart was just (and still is) too strong. This was like perfection to me and such a great way to wrap up the series, although I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want more. Here’s my best attempt, though. It’s more of a rant than anything else 😅

To me this book has two parts: one where she’s hunting her stalker and the other where she’s covering her tracks. The first half of this book was like old times and very gripping! The event that happens that shifts us into part two (if you know, you know) had me flipping the pages faster than my mind could keep up with. I stayed up way past my bedtime for this part, folks. (view spoiler)

A lot of people lower their rating because of the second half and particularly the ending. To me, it’s totally unfair to lower a book rating based on a character’s decision if their motivations back it up. In this case, it did. Pip is not the same, innocent girl she was when she was looking into the Andie Bell case. This is who she is now. She’s been hardened. Her PTSD has forced her to be in constant survival mode. Do I agree with everything she did? No. (view spoiler)

To me, I see how broken Pip is. She keeps telling herself she just needs to do this one more thing and then she can have closure and move on. It saddens me to know this will never be Pip’s reality. She will just learn how to live with everything she’s been through, but she will never have closure from it. She’ll keep chasing that closure, desperate for it. (view spoiler)

This series was absolutely amazing and I can see myself re-reading it again knowing all I do know about everyone. I cannot wait to read whatever Holly Jackson conjures up next!
