Having excellent world-building, and brilliant character development, packaged with a smooth writing style, this is one of the best fantasy books I have ever read.

Pretty good start for series, but has some problems with pacing, or omissions.
It seems book skips a few things. E.g. in we can witness progressive development of Arlan into Warded Man, and then we skip to another character, and we learn that he already made quite a name for himself.
It's a bit annoying, as sometimes we see certain things develop in progression, and sometimes books throws "so this happened, while our narration shifted point of view".
Still, not a bad read and i hope the following b ...more

I actually can't think of anything bad to say about this book. That's a feat in itself. I enjoyed it immensely, didn't think anything was overdone. The characters are wonderful and the world is interesting. Looking forward to reading the next installment.
