Arlen is awesome still, I just wish more time was focused on him. Jardir was better by the second half of the book, but he had too much page time. Lesha seems like she is the savior seeing as she can do everything better than everyone after 5 minutes of seeing it for the first time. She is taking away from Arlen's story a bit. Roger is still mostly useless. That being said, I still really enjoyed this book. It was not as good as the first one, but I doubt I'll enjoy any of the series as much as

Amazing. Just amazing. More and more characters get introduced as the books go on, and each of them is so... Lifelike. The world itself and its magic is fantastical and raises so many questions you just want to keep on reading to find out more, but the characters are what make this story truly stand out as one of the best fantasy series I have read. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes fantasy, and is of an appropriate age.. Some of the content is.. Disturbing, but I guess I got numb

Loved it! We get to know the world from desert folk's perspective, and it's very alien. In my mind they represent Islam culture while the north is XVIII century Europe.
