"Happy birthday, Haymitch!"
The upside on being born on reaping day is that you can sleep late on your birthday. It's pretty much downhill from there. A day off school hardly compensates for the terror of the name drawing.

Sunrise on the Reaping tore my heart out and shredded it to pieces.
It is everything I hoped Haymitch's story would be, and more! I finished the book two weeks ago, and I still think about it on a daily basis. I enjoyed The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, but it never manag

So many emotions. So well written.

I'm glad this has such a high rating so I don't have to defend it. I read several reviews that were very harsh. I personally loved being back in the Hunger Games world. As other reviewers have said it’s a slow start and a bit of the drag to get to the games and maybe not as quick paced as the first hunger games book but I personally loved Haymitchs story and the lead up to his alcoholic spiral , it would be enough to turn you to drink to escape wouldn’t it ? Didn’t care for the previous snow story but this for me was a winner and can’t wait to see the film , loved the old characters popping up to . More please 🙏

Stunning. I recommend re-reading Catching Fire and going straight into Sunrise on the Reaping. Cudos to Collins for writing a book that seamlessly fits into the original trilogy, but with an erudite twist. 🐦‍⬛
