Kristen Ciccarelli, you’ve officially ruined me for other fantasy romances. This book was everything; heart-wrenching, swoon-worthy, and addictive in a way that made me cry, giggle, and occasionally clutch my chest like some tragic heroine. Sure, there were moments I could see coming, but that didn’t stop me from being blindsided by the emotional punches and gasping at the twists that did land.

Better than the first book, but the pacing was odd--I feel like this was a bit too long and could have been broken up into a third book, OR some of this could have gone into the first book, where there was very little action.
I think my biggest issue with this story is that I had a hard time understanding/believing Gideon's evolution from bigoted witch hunter to witch lover. It didn't seem step-wise or believable, and maybe that's just due to the current political climate. Regardless, this was a ...more
