4.5* I really didnt expect this! I was definitely expecting a 3 star read, but this was surprisingly good. I really enjoyed the characters (main and side characters) as well as the story and the slow burn romance. There was definitely an heir of mystery to the story which I feel like infolded over time, I did predict in the end what the plot twist was, but a friend that I buddy read with did not (she also really enjoyed this book!). Oh Heartless Hunter! You’ve ripped out my heart and stomped on it! Left a hole in my chest for Gideon and left me yearning for more! It was that good! The tension build up was chef’s kiss! You not only have the main characters with a constant push and pull tension build up, but you have the plot story between the Blood Guard vs The Witches. Book one is a sampling into this world, an appetizer per say. Leaving you wanting the next course.

I loved this book. It started off slow in my opinion but the more I got into it the better it became. I can’t wait for the second book! The last couple chapters 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Definitely on my lists to recommend out to friends!

Well I bloody loved this , the best enemies to lovers back to enemies love triangle Iv ever read & the best fantasy since ACOTAR & better than 4th wing , up there with 9th house and hellbent - just my humble opinion. Perfect 👌 easy reading escapism and this lady can write , what a cliff hanger of an ending book 2 out in feb 2025 ! Il be pre ordering that !
