Okay… more like a 4.5/5 ⭐️?? The beginning was rough af - so many characters, same repeat woe-is-me… but those last few chapters… holy smokes. Definitely a solid 4. Those last few chapters make it the 4.5 for me.

Really good. I’m still processing. I fear this is a “weed out” book. Weeding out anyone here just for the smut. Babe, keep up, this is your warning that this series is graduating to more political intrigue fantasy than JUST Romantacy.

First of all, what the actual heck. I raw dogged this and was so bloody confused for I want to say the first quarter of the book. My memory is pretty great but I swear I was reading plot points that materialised for the first time.

If I took a shot every time Xaden and Violet said ‘I love you’ to each other I’d not only have history making liver failure - I’d be dead.

Before the last 100 pages of the book, this shit was so boring. How many times are Um, sorry?!

Before the last 100 pages of the book, this shit was so boring. How many times are the characters going to bounce between isles and safe havens?! Like I was reading the same plot points over and over and OVER again. They fly somewhere, nearly die, Xaden has his ‘I’m a liability’ (it got old so quickly) moment, they say I love you, Xaden disappears and broods and all Violet thinks about is him. For like 60 chapters straight bro.

It got good once Andarna broke the bond. But she didn’t? How did she? I have so many questions. Ngl Violet bounced back quicker than I thought she would, weird considering what a painful process it is to lose a dragon but I’m not even going to explore that because my brain is starting to self destruct.

Speaking of self destruct, what the actual heck is that ending. I read it three times and I’m still so lost. Wtf do you mean memory wiped. WTF do you mean?! I can’t even say it was a good ending. It was an ending and that was about it.

I get it, we’re bridging the gap between the first two and last two books but mate I had higher hopes and I was left disappointed. Comparing this to the first two books, did the author change or something?? Because what?????? I’m actually going to pass out and I’m still trying to process what the hell I just read.

Istg I’m gonna be so frustrated if the next books fall off. Pls don’t do this to me Rebecca. I was just talking about how this series is one of my favourites of all time. Don’t embarrass me like this.

What just happened?! I'll likely need multiple re-reads of this to not only understand what in the world is actually going on with that ending - but to just be able to absorb all the delicious banter I just read. Ridoc, Andarna, Tairn and, of course, Xaden were next level in this one. ...more
