4.5 - Love me a brooding, emotionally tortured hero as the love interest 🫠 And yes, I’m a little concerned about what that says about me. Kingfisher was perfection. Except for the name… Seriously, how did the author think that sounded good? And did the publisher not suggest picking something better? I just Googled names of birds and found several more advantageous options…

I’ve seen a lot of conflicting points of view on this book. But I completely enjoyed myself reading this, and it was a great time.
I love a strong female protagonist. Saeris was fiery, sassy, strong, and powerful. She never stopped fighting and I loved that.
I love Kingfisher. He is everything I love in a gorgeous, dark, complicated, tormented fantasy character. His walls are up, he protects his vulnerability which makes it wonderful watching those walls slowly fall and starting to see the true ...more
This audiobook was so enjoyable. The pace was slow at first, but to be expected as part of the world building of a first-in-series book. The verbal jabs and banter between the FMC and MMC added to the enemies to lovers tension. This led to some steamy episode between the two. The support characters were great, I especially liked Carrion Swift. I can see the author expanding these characters in future books. Saeris was a bit annoying at times, Kingfisher is ~hot~. Overall I loved this book and wi

Despite the cringeworthy sex scenes and a few random inconsistencies (which I now wonder if these inconsistencies might have been fixed since its recent reprint by a publisher), I’m still giving this book 5 stars. The world-building was vivid, the characters were vivid, the plot was complex and rewarding, and I couldn’t put it down. While there were some bookish red flags for me, I had such an enjoyable experience that I can’t help but give it 5 stars in thanks for a really good time. I’m very m

4.5 stars!!!!! Was slow to start, but sooooo glad kept with it!!!!!! The narrators are AWESOME!!!!! Wow!!!! This story had much more heart & darkness than expected, but was great!!! Definitely had twists did not see which was shocking, but awesome!! 🎉😂🔥🤩😍felt the connection with our characters!!!! Loved the banter of Kingfisher the MMC & the kickass FMC!!! Even some of the minor characters were good! Some our comic relief, but nothing cheesy lol!! Definitely had some great spice, but very charac

Quicksilver by Callie Hart – 4/5 Stars
Let’s start with the obvious. Callie Hart knows how to build a world. It’s lush, strange, and full of names that sound like they were pulled from an ancient prophecy scrawled in celestial blood. I mean: Everlayne, Taladaius, Zovena, Daianthus? Yes, chef’s kiss. But then… Malcolm.
Really?
All that dark, delicious naming aesthetic, and you name your villain after the guy who manages the local Staples?
But I digress.
The book starts with a bit of a crawl. First 20% ...more
