Spoilers for those who haven’t read this book yet…
I started out hating the male character, not just his name - Kingfisher, but also his potty mouth just gave me the Ick.
However, once the backstory’s started to make sense and Fisher started softening into more human less immortal grumpy old man, I was hooked. Sprinkle in some vampires, fated tattoos and an evil character trifecta showdown with fancy magical swords and I ended up really enjoying it. Bonus points for the cute fox pet - Onyx. Did n ...more

Quicksilver aloittaa Fae & Alchemy nimisen kirjasarjan.
Tarina seuraa Saeris Fanea, tahtomattaan varkaaksi päätynyttä nuorta naista, joka yhdessä veljensä kanssa yrittää pysyä hengissä Zilvaren cityn kuumassa aavikkokaupungissa sen julman kuningattaren Madran hirmuvallan alaisena.
Kohtalo puuttuu Saerisin elämään, kun hänet tuodaan kuningattaren eteen vastaamaan teoistaan. Taistellessaan hengestään Saeris tulee herättäneeksi ikiaikaisen ja tietoisen alkuaineen elohopean (quicksilver).
