I was pleasantly surprised with the writing style. However, I questioned the motives of those around our FMC, Freya, and wish Freya had too. Her willingness to just go along with everything causes a bit of a disconnect.

This was a fast paced easy read! I liked it a lot, but did it give me all the tingly feelings of a new favorite fantasy series? .. No.
I didn’t really feel the connection between Freya and Bjorn, it was kind of like “your hot, I love you” Freya was already in love with him before the first big scene with the draug. It just seemed fast to me. BUT, I actually did not see the twist at the end coming! I was surprised by that!
All in all I will definitely read the second book when it comes out!

Picked up this book because it was the pick of a book club that I joined. I’m just barely upgrading it from 1 star to 2 because of the very last chapter. The FMC is so annoying. She is definitely the worst character I’ve ever read. I don’t even have the energy to list the reasons why. It’s a lot. Will I read the next one? Maybe. The last chapter was interesting enough, but also maybe I won’t even care by the time it releases. So…
