The sex scenes in this book sound like they were written by someone who is no longer allowed near playgrounds. You will NEVER be able to convince a woman wrote those scenes and thought "yes how great."

Better than the others I guess. Which isn't saying much at all.

Why repeat my other reviews that this book could've easily been only 300 pages?

What a way to close out an adventure. 😲

I was so excited to get to the next book in the series. So many people told me that the third book was going to rock my world. And it definitely did some rocking. Do I feel like it was the best in the series? No. It definitely took me on a wild ride though. But I felt like I knew what way the ride was going, which definitely threw me back a little bit. I like to be on the edge of my seat and not know what’s coming next. But I could predict as it was going d What a way to close out an adventure. 😲

I was so excited to get to the next book in the series. So many people told me that the third book was going to rock my world. And it definitely did some rocking. Do I feel like it was the best in the series? No. It definitely took me on a wild ride though. But I felt like I knew what way the ride was going, which definitely threw me back a little bit. I like to be on the edge of my seat and not know what’s coming next. But I could predict as it was going down, and my emotion was still in it so it made it still worth the read. I am invested in these characters at this point, but I’m a little disappointed in the end.

The reason why I didn’t give this book 5 stars is there was just a few things that I felt didn’t meet my expectations. I felt like the spice and burn really fell off this book. Which I very much enjoy with these characters so it definitely bummed me out a little bit. I know it was focused, mostly on settling what was going on on the war, but they were already in the middle of those scenes so you might as well make it worth the ride. And it felt very fizzled out. Which was devastating to see. It’s like someone telling you that it’s gonna be one way and it ends up just being a flop.

The one thing that I enjoyed about this book is the fulfillment of what was supposed to happen. We’ve been waiting so long for a conclusion to this entire mindfuck of what they’ve been going through. And finally, it’s coming to a close. But the tools that were used to get it to that clothes were a little bit of a twist. I did enjoy catching up with Nesta and Az. As well as the little sneak peek of the inner circle that we did initially get introduced to. It was cute and I enjoyed the little twist and turns with it. But it just made me want more from ACOTAR. And I’m not sure how good I feel about that. I’ve been weaning myself off of it for quite some time. 😂🫣

Within the crescent city series, characters, I felt that the storylines left some loose ends. Which I can see why Sarah J. Maas would like to make a third buck. But to be honest with you, I can’t really fathom where she can go from here. She really ended all of the turmoil from what I can see. I get that there is some political things left over but really I don’t know where it can go from there. Yes there were some relationship hints and some if he connections but really they’re not the main character so it’s like I can take it or leave it. Don’t get me wrong. I’m rooting for Ithan and Tharone, but I just don’t know what else you can do with this universe. Unless you runoff to focus on other characters. It seems a little stretched out by this point. But I did enjoy House of Flame and Shadow and the can of whoop ass that it brought with it. There were tears, there were tight throat moments, and there were the tingles that you always want on those intense intimate experiences. 😏

Maybe I’d just gotten really good at not reading spoilers for this series, but I had no clue while reading this that the last sentence of book 2 with a certain name appearing, had a certain crossover in it. Which honestly was the most fun in all of book 2.

While the crossover is cool and the Easter eggs Sarah loves to give us are fun, it’s also overwhelming with so many characters and so many things happening. Book one seriously could have been a stand alone because this series is getting insane ...more

Not the same 5 stars as the first two, but great story overall!
Crescent City is so refreshing 🙂 strongly recommend it.

It should definitely be read after ACOTAR.
