SJM has somehow managed to completely capture my heart and blow my mind once again!

I want to start by saying that SJM never fails to completely capture my heart. Some books I may love just a tiny bit more but there is no doubt that I have loved everything she has written.

With House of Flame and Shadow I was pulled in immediately and in a compl

Ok, so let’s start by saying this is better than book 2 of the series. But I wonder if Maas is a victim of her own success, which is why no-one reins her in? This book absolutely did not need to be the behemoth it is at well over 800 pages. I do still love her world building, plots and storytelling. It was mid. Point blank. The series on its own, makes it excellent. But to combine the multiverses? It sets up the next book of ACOTAR but other than that it was sorta useless. Some kinda info but that’s it. Compared to SJMs other series this was just okay. TOG had me bawling with the thirteen. ACOTAR was full of heart wrenching moments. This? This was all expected. Nothing BAM in your face that SJM is known for.

I’m so glad I waited for this one to come out before starting the series. I don’t think I would’ve been able to wait after the 2nd book’s cliffhanger ending. I truly enjoy SJM’s books. I love the plot, the badass FMCs and the whiplash twists that you never see coming. 🤣

***** Spoilers! *****

The best part I loved abt this book was the crossover. 🫣🫣 It made it feel like I was reading about the ACOTAR world again as well and I was so happy to read more about Azriel too. I loved how sh
