I need to stop listening to the opinions of others, or talking to people about books at all, I don’t know. Unpopular opinion: this book was great, possibly better than the first one. The pacing was the same as the first in my opinion. I even reread the first book before going into this one and I found no difference between the two. This book continues the thrilling ride of Fourth Wing. It is addictive and compelling. Yes, there are a few negatives, but few books don't have those. As someone who has never really been into fantasy and dragon stories until very recently, I especially love the dragons! Love the banter between Tairn and Violet and between Tairn and Andarna. There are a lot of side characters and dragon names to keep track of, necessary for the story and I'm thinking most will become more familiar with each book ...more

I enjoy this story and characters even more with each listen to GraphicAudio. So I’m increasing my rating from 4 to 5 stars.

The ending of this book makes me want to rip my hair out. I cannot believe it ended like that. I feel feral over the amount of anger I have right now. I do not know how to process it. But the book was really exciting and I couldn’t put it down. But the ending? I want to sue.
