I need to stop listening to the opinions of others, or talking to people about books at all, I don’t know. Unpopular opinion: this book was great, possibly better than the first one. The pacing was the same as the first in my opinion. I even reread the first book before going into this one and I found no difference between the two. I enjoy this story and characters even more with each listen to GraphicAudio. So I’m increasing my rating from 4 to 5 stars.

I was sceptical going into the second instalment but was pleasantly surprised. It continued to be fast paced with entertaining events throughout the entire book. The ending of this book makes me want to rip my hair out. I cannot believe it ended like that. I feel feral over the amount of anger I have right now. I do not know how to process it. But the book was really exciting and I couldn’t put it down. But the ending? I want to sue.

This took me a little longer to read than Fourth Wing but I still love it. I love the lore, the side characters, the world building, etc. I rated it four stars because Xaden and Violet having the same fight over and over just wasn’t for me.
