I was slightly disappointed in this book. There were so many opportunities to develop the world more. The author could have taken time to explain the history of the world and instead it chose to focus on Violet and Xaden fucking or fighting. While the spice was good, I would have rather learned more back story.

The writing overall just wasn't there for me. The first book the writing was ok, but the story was compelling so I was invested in the book. In this one however, neither of those things w ...more

I need to stop listening to the opinions of others, or talking to people about books at all, I don’t know. Unpopular opinion: this book was great, possibly better than the first one. The pacing was the same as the first in my opinion. I even reread the first book before going into this one and I found no difference between the two. The ending of this book makes me want to rip my hair out. I cannot believe it ended like that. I feel feral over the amount of anger I have right now. I do not know how to process it. But the book was really exciting and I couldn’t put it down. But the ending? I want to sue.
