Shelves: magic, fantasy, gothic

I finally finished it 😅 and I enjoyed it much more than I did on my first two attempts, but it still drags in some areas for me and my mind started drifting off.

Ok so here’s the thing, is this the best book I’ve ever read? No. But is it easy to get into and did it grab and hold my attention? 100%. I feel like this is a great book for people who want to break into fantasy/romance but feel initially intimidated and overwhelmed by some of the more massive worlds and the 800+ page fantasy tomes commonly seen in this genre.

I literally read this book in one day. I couldn’t put it down. I loved the rich details and clever writing and I thought the story was unique and original. I wish the characters were a little more developed and there were some repetitive phrases she used over and over and over…but I’m still looking forward to reading the sequel.
