Becoming Ted gets all the stars, it really is that good. Matt Cain became a favorite after loving The Secret Life of Albert Entwistle and he outdid himself with this book. If you want a story about a guy who picks up the pieces and finds his authentic self after his marriage falls apart, give Becoming Ted a try. This is a truly charming story filled with emotions and some fantastic side characters along with an important message to live your life for yourself without compromising to be someone w ...more

Becoming Ted was a really sweet story about a man who needs to come out (of his shell) after he's already "come out" to his family and friends. Ted has, in a lot of ways, lived his over 40 years as a kind of a doormat for his family -- always trying to please others, his parents, his husband and pushing his own needs and feelings way down until he's able to tell himself that things are good and he's happy the way life is.

I very much enjoyed #BecomingTed. It was an LGBTQ novel about finding and living your true self, rather than trying to please everyone around you. The author writes very clearly and compellingly. Ted is a nice guy and easy to root for. (Full disclosure: I did win a free copy of this book.) #BetweenTheChapters #GoodreadsGiveaway

This book just wasn’t for me. I never connected with Ted enough to care about what was happening in his life.
