The author gives an account of her digression into a catatonic state and her eventual diagnosis. Interestingly, she does not most of the events, but has pieced together the facts from various interviews, notes, and journals kept by herself, doctors, and family. The book ends with a description of her recovery and reflection on the event.

A quick, interesting read. Three stars because the journalistic writing style grated on me after a while. Clearly written, just not my cuppa for a book length work. Very informative. Recommended for anyone interested in medical mysteries.
