When Miles Goodwin encounters the ghost of his dead best friend, he must suddenly confront what he’s avoided his entire adult life. Ash Earnhardt is there to tell him his death was not his fault.
In order to convince Miles of this, Ash takes them back in time to where the bad stuff happened, a small Kansas town where they attended high school. These boys weren’t Future Farmers of America, however. Their motto was “Sex and drugs we want more, we’re the class of ’84”. They took this motto to heart.
Together, the two best friends cascade back and forth in time, giving an adult perspective to their misspent youth. Eventually, the good times end, and they confront Ash’s death. Believing his journey to be over, Miles returns home to discover the real reason Ash appeared to him is more complicated than he could have ever imagined.
