The third installment in the series separates the cast, kills a few characters, and leans heavily on battle sequences. My personal preference for action is for tighter, shorter chapters, which was a hindrance when getting into the story. Your tolerance for fictional realms and detailed worldbuilding will also influence how you perceive the book, though presumably by the third volume you know what you’re getting into. Focused mostly on Codrin's viewpoint, this 3rd book in the Chronicle of the Seer series continues the power struggles, tangled plots and intrigues from the previous books. Conspiracies and political maneuvering, deception and betrayals all swirl around and entangle Codrin and the many other factions.
