Since I have read the previous books, this one dropped me right back into the world without any trouble. Kat Kinney is consistent. I always enjoy the mix of creativity, chemistry, and those little moments of humor that break the tension in the right places.
This story leans more on suspense and emotional history than some of the earlier books. River and Ellie have that complicated past that makes every scene charged, even when nothing physical is happening yet. The paranormal mechanics are clever ...more
