Being a teenager is hard, it was hard when I was young and this book shows that it's only gotten that much harder. I mean not knowing if or where to go to college, what to study or just basically what comes next, you're on the cusp of change and it's scary. Felix has to deal with all that and more, being trans but still not being able to figure out his identity, falling in love, battling with his self worth. Insightful approach to the spectrum of gender, I found Felix’s story full of heart and hope. I wish more of the core characters felt fully fleshed out. Also, that major plot twists, in their hindsight, could have felt more believable or authentic. Still, I found the story to cover much essential ground in today’s highly politicized world. A few loose ends left untied had me lusting for more closure but I guess we don’t always get that, huh?
