I finally did it! I finally read Love and Other Words and let me tell you it didn't disappoint! This book was so damn cute and soft and comfortable to read and having sunny days to read it outside, was the best decision ever!
Macy was a little bit difficult to love at first but this woman went through so much that I couldn't help to feel for her, I personally lost a family member close to me and I remember the “I’ve been waiting for you to come home for eleven years. I’ll go anywhere you go.”

I finally did it! I finally read Love and Other Words and let me tell you it didn't disappoint! This book was so damn cute and soft and comfortable to read and having sunny days to read it outside, was the best decision ever!
Macy was a little bit difficult to love at first but this woman went through so much that I couldn't help to feel for her, I personally lost a family member close to me and I remember the pain and the days that followed and seeing Macy deal with that lost alone and feeling like no one understood her but Elliot was painful and even though she made some questionable decisions, she was protecting herself and trying not to get hurt but at the same time she wasn't living, and when finally after so many year Elliot got back to a life, it was when Macy started to live again and to be honest I think that's really beautiful. I really loved Macy strong development and finally giving in to the feelings she always had for Elliot!
Elliot, my amazing man Elliot was so easily relatable, a little bit like Macy to be honest and his nerdy self just got to my heart, I feel in love with him instantly! Wish we could see a little bit more form "his perspective" but knowing he was hurting to and kind of messed up from losing Macy was heartbreaking. Loved how he was always so up front with her about his intentions and when she finally wasn't engaged, he just wanted to be with her and I am happy they finally find the strength to do so and work on their past and the wounds both of them left behind!
This was actually such a comfort and beautiful and heartbreaking and amazing and sweet and cute story about childhood friends, seeing them grow and becoming teenagers and seeing their feelings develop for each other and them trying to understand those feelings and at the same time trying to not lose their friendship was actually so good! Also loved how the book went form back then to now and seeing them in different time periods and like I said, growing together was really good, I really loved it!
Even though I kind of predicted their fall out, what came next? Nop, I wasn't expecting Macy to lose the two people most important to her in a space of 24 hours. I get why she left and why she didn't call Elliot back, deep down I could've blame him too but it's not really his fault, he was a teenager doing mistakes that also cost him one of the most important people in his life!
I was debating in giving 4 stars or 5 because I loved them so much, both as individual characters, then loved seeing their childhood, and I'm such a sucker for childhood friends to lovers, loved seeing them also working things out after so many years apart, also loved how their feelings never left and though it was really hard during their years apart, I did enjoy seeing those feelings come back to life after seeing each other for 5 seconds! So yeah I will give this 5 stars I don't care, I loved the story, I love them so!!
I understand now, I finally understand the love and caring people have for them!!

i’m stumped. i have no idea what to rate this. but i will say that so far, i think this is my favorite christina lauren novel.

despite my declaration, i’m torn. this includes two of my favorite romance tropes: friends to lovers & second chance. this also has a dual timelines and normally i tend to prefer one over the other, but i do think this handled it really well although i think i like the “then” portions more. i was invested in both ...more

I'm sad it took me as long as it did to finally sit down and read this....

It was BEAUTIFUL. I absolutely loved this book. Honestly, I pictured young Elliot as a baby Spencer Reid and adult Elliot as Sam Winchester???? Please tell me if you did also!!!

This was a second chance romance, childhood friends to strangers to lovers and it was BEAUTIFULLY written.

Well, this book was as good as everyone said it was. I love an angsty second chance love story and this was pretty much perfect. I would literally read a Christina Lauren shopping list at this point.

I think going back and forth from Then and Now was a good choice. It reminded me of All Your Perfects in the sense that if it had been told linearly, it wouldn’t have had the same effect. A Northern California tribute to all that we are and will be. A beautiful romance that has twists and turns, but ultimently tells the reader that no matter where we go or how far we may go from those we love, they always stay with us. Love is complicated. Nonetheless it’s worth it. This is a new favorite that I’ve added to my collection. I can’t wait to reread and recommend this book to all my friends to come!
