This was 200 pages too long. It was soooo boring and slow paced, I don't really know why I've continued it. It wasn't even sad like people said it was.
I guess Schwab should stay at writing fantasy, because this is just not her genre, like, at all. I also didn't like the translation, it was truly horrendous.

(I'm still deciding if it deserves 2.5 or 3 stars, although there are better 3 star books for me than this one)

I went into the book blindly and found myself quickly fascinated with the plot. The writing was poetic yet easy to follow along with. I was highly intrigued by Luc's character and felt frustrated yet obsessed with him all at once. I adored Addie's strength and determination throughout the story and thought her character was so admirable. When we met Henry, I immediately adored him and wanted to protect him and Addie at all cost. I felt nervous and unsure how the story would play out and honestly ...more

“Life can feel very long sometimes, but in the end, it goes so fast,”

I really enjoyed this! It was a fun read and very well written as most V.E. Schwab books are. I really liked the message this book sends, which is that even though life can be rough sometimes, it also goes by very fast, so make sure you live a good one. I think there are several lessons that can be taken from this book that both Addie and Henry provide us and I think they are all very applicable to just about anyone. I also rea

This book was very unique! It started off slow then halfway through it picked up so much! The ending made me literally cry and recommend this book to many people. While I wanted to put it down so many times I’m so grateful I didn’t! The story line is very different than anything I’ve read but give this book time and you’ll love it!
