I gave in, and the hype... is real! This book has no business just showing up and knocking me on the mat (thanks, Xaden).

This world is set in a very dangerous fantasy environment with dragons that choose their rider. If you go into the rider's war school you only get out by being a rider or by death. The MFC, Violet is fragile with her disability where she injures much easier than others. I’m joining the hype train, I absolutely loved this! Right from the beginning the characters were interesting, the plot was engaging and the world was well developed. The action is beautifully paced, the romance *chefs kisses*, it’s brilliant from start to finish! There was a bit of info dumping but it was but it’s okay. This is the book I didn’t know I needed. Started seeing it on Bookstagram and had no idea what it was about and the library had it, so I decided to jump in blind and WOW. This book broke a reading slump, reminded me of why I love fantasy on audio so much (and need to read it more). I mean young adults going to a very dangerous and competitive dragon riding school - I just loved it. Despite only reading this 4 months ago I had to do a reread, mainly because I read the two chapters from Xaden's POV and I got all excited again. So now I'm gonna read Iron Flame, which is probably my most anticipated read at the moment, despite all the disappointed reviews.

Very addicting and enjoyable book. While it wasn’t my favourite book ever, it was very well written with likeable characters.

I would like to mention that the final battle of the book was incredible. Amazing writing that kept me on the edge of my seat.

Holy 🔥🥰🤪🥵🐉 is it November 7th yet!?!? Xaden, is for sure the best book boyfriend, a girl can ask for!! 🤍🤍 I cannot wait to read Iron Flame and dive in deeper into Xaden love for Violet. And can I say, holy cliffhanger!?!?
