Rating this book is somewhat tricky for me. It would've gotten five stars, but as the book progressed, I didn't like certain plot points which made its rating drop. What didn't work for me was that I found Violet to be annoying as I continued reading the book. (Sidenote: Xaden is a terrible name! Xander still would've been bad, but at least it's somewhat more appealing).

I don't even know where to start.
This book / series has such a chokehold on my I can't think of anything else besides crossing the parapet and entering the rider's quadrant.
First of all, the underdog, Violet in this story is a bad bitch. I usually don't like the underdog stories but this one was delivered so beautifully. My favourite book of all time. Beautifully written, so many surprises. Love the entire storyline, everything!!! Keeps you hooked, wanting more, I couldn’t put this book down! Can’t wait for Iron Flame (book 2). 100% worth the read! I hope they make it into a tv show or movie!
Oh my god this book is beyond worth the hype. Definitely going to make my top 5 this year.

It took me 6 months and 3 DNFs but I finally finished. Once I got through the first 200 pages, I consumed in one sitting.
3.5 stars
Pacing was all over the place, but it was enjoyable nonetheless (ignore how long it took me to read this book)
