This is what I would call giving into the hype as the best idea. Generally, I steer clear from overhyped books because of their reputation for spoilers. But this one was quite amazing. I loved the world-building and the scenic descriptions were totally on point. Honestly speaking this is the first fantasy book I've read where I haven't skimmed the picturesque descriptions. There are so many reviews out there that can do this book justice and my mind in still whirling over everything I just read. So I’m just going to say:
- I loved how the plot was well detained and very interesting without ever feeling overwhelming,
- I loved how Violet’s disability is portrayed. Some things she is unable to do they way others do but she finds her own way. Also, her being tiny is a part of it but it isn’t romanticized or presented in a “difference from other girls” mind set

Rebecca Yarros put drugs into this book because ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I was obsessed with it from the very first word. I need this book injected into my veins. I need the next book. I need it like Xaden needs Violet. This book series just became my entire personality and I’m going to be insufferable. Go read this book rn if you haven’t already!!!!!!
Ufff, the ending helped me to give the 4 starts.
It is an incredible read, the backstory, the dragons, and the academy, are very well written, the idea is clear and spot on. Truly. I do recommend the read, page-turner. I loved the characters, every and each one of them.
But why 4⭐️? Because I believe in chapter 30, the way that the writer wrote this particular scene feels copied, the words did not feel unique, it was as if I had already read them somewhere else. It just did not flow. I don't kno ...more

A lot of this I foresaw. Some of this I spoiled.
But I’m still in love with this story all the same 🤍
I have cried for a book in so long, and I knew the ending was going to be a twist! 😭
