I have a lot of conflicting emotions from this one. First off, I loved the author’s writing style. It made me gasp, it made me scared for Adeline but like her… it also made me want Zade. This is a much darker romance than I have read before (and I heard the next one is even darker). I mean, the gun scene. Wtf. 🤯

Look, I think I need therapy after enjoying this book as much as I did. What can I say, I’m a basic b*tch who enjoys a morally grey (dark dark grey) MMC. The romance/stalking had me hooked from beginning to end.

Is Zade a good man? NO! Not at all. Not even a little. But, his protective/possessive side was HOT. Wrong…. But HOT.

The storyline with Zade was the darkest and I suggest to you check the TW because IT IS DARK. Maybe that’s why I forgave Zade for his actions towards Adeline, he needs to ...more

Shelves: thriller

It was a horror;). DNF @ 35% trauma bonding- where the one MC is the one doing the traumatizing. He saves women& children but also basically abuses the MC 🤷🏻‍♀️ a lot of these internal and external dynamics between the characters were unrealistic and didn’t make sense. The abuser/abused relationship dynamic isn’t my thing. Author did an excellent job of setting the scene for intrigue. It was spooky, captivating and utterly original, also well written. Just not my cuppa.
