This is a true villain love story. It is not your classic healthy relationship love story. I had to take a step back and appreciate the story for what it was: A truly psychotic bad guy and a good girl who loves him despite all his evil. I absolutely loved the Peter Pan references. No, this isn’t a retelling or a fantasy. It’s a dark romance, where the main character is a villain and what a beautiful villain he is.

Read this way too fast than should be normal. But alas, I give this a 3.5 rating.

The plot was what I was invested in. It was engaging enough to really enjoy it to the very end.

The characters behaviors were back and forth between loving and they are suddenly very confusing. But, they were just pieces to the story just moving along.

Hooked is not a Peter Pan re-telling, but instead it's a (dark) re-imagination of the story. This was the first book I've ever read by Emily McIntire & it's been on my list for quite some time. I knew I'd get to it because I love a good Peter Pan inspired book!

An entertaining read, full of tension and with an interesting plot, it is a pity that the female protagonist had NO personality and allowed herself to be manipulated by everyone. It was nice to pass the time, but it was nothing very surprising.
