Ahhhhhhhhh. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Why was this soooooo good? And sooooo cute? I couldn’t get enough.

This book is along the same lines as The Summer I Turned Pretty and Every Summer After so I won’t say too much about the plot line. But here’s what you’re going to get from this:

1. Friends to lovers trope 🥰
2. Coming of age story, sorta 😚
3. Summer cottage vibes ☀️
4. Dual timelines⏰
5. Second chance love❤️
6. More than enough cutesy moments to make you swoon🤭

I laughed, I cried, I reread passages over and over to make sure I pictured every scene perfectly. Erin Mallon’s narration of the audiobook was exceptional. My only real critique is that the ending felt rushed. It needed 30 more pages to fully flush the aftermath out but besides that, I thought it was a wonderfully tender love story. Deft will reread it, sooner rather than later.

but ngl I wrote this review a couple weeks after reading it and had to strain the noggin to remember what it was about

1⭐️ for Love and Other Words. This was my first Christina Lauren book. I dnf'ed at 64%... this one was just not for me. 🤷‍♀️

I cannot seem to understand the hype behind this one. I was really excited to get my hands on this, and to find out that this story was just perpetuated lack of communication and mishandling of serious topics... I was disappointed. I think the flashbacks made me put this down, because Coming-Of-Age stories are not for me.
