3rd reread June 2025:
4.5 Crazy this is still one of my favorite books but the thing that happens at the end actually rubbed me the wrong way for the first time ever, so I knocked a little off the 5 original 5 star rating. I still adore this book and it’s very special to me. I’m just realizing it’s not quite as perfect as I originally thought. Weird how that can happen.

2nd reread June 2023:
I picked this back up because I needed a comfort read and this was one of my favorite books from last year 3rd reread June 2025:

I picked this back up because I needed a comfort read and this was one of my favorite books from last year. It’s still my one of my favorites, and I think I love it even more now. It still gave me all the warm and fuzzies and tears that it did the first time. Love this book so freakin much.

This book is like a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie.

It's such a simple story but it's perfection. It's the story of childhood best friends who spend summers & weekends together reading books, sharing their favorite words, playing, growing up & falling in love. They are separated by a tragic circumstance & heart break. 11 years later meet again & have to process the things that made them separate & the feelings they never stopped having for each other. There's a touch of sadness but most of this book made me feel all warm & cozy inside. It's definitely a new favorite. I'd even go as far as saying it's my favorite of the year so far & I can't imagine another book on my TBR topping it. I can also relate to the story in a deeply personal way. I love it so much. & I love Elliot & Macy so much! They are so dang cute. Two nerdy little book worms, I want to eat them up!

Okay this book is so good.

Friends to lovers to second chance romance to lovers again is just SO GOOD.
I was on edge wishing the best for the characters. Yes, I am known for my dislike to friends to lovers tropes but this my first time actually liking it. Lemme tell you that these characters deserve the world.

There were some predictable parts but at the same time some came out of nowhere.

This book put a smile on my face. I believe it will do so to you too.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

MACY NEEDED TO SPEAK TF UP LIKE GIRL I GOT IMPATIENT TOO!!! Super cute tho Elliot and Macy are like little weirdos but I love that for them <3 it was slow paced but also kept my attention the whole time if that makes sense.

I am at a loss for words after finishing this book. This is the first Christina Lauren book I’ve read so I went in having no idea what to expect. Let me tell you THIS BOOK EXCEEDED ANYTHING I COULD HAVE IMAGINED.
