Colleen Hoover really knows how to make you suffer.

I was crying from the first chapter. There is so much in this book, so much regret, pain and despair that it is impossible for this story not to make you feel sad. I loved the plot of the book, I liked that there were two different points of view in the story and in what had happened, not only do you suffer from Kenna's perspective but also your heart aches for everything t "Now that I’ve forgiven myself, the reminders of him only make me smile."

I was crying from the first chapter. There is so much in this book, so much regret, pain and despair that it is impossible for this story not to make you feel sad. I loved the plot of the book, I liked that there were two different points of view in the story and in what had happened, not only do you suffer from Kenna's perspective but also your heart aches for everything that Grace and Patrick had to go through.

Not only is there a story about grief here, but you can also see what pain can cause in one person and how their decisions about it affect others. In the book, a culprit is sought, a cushion for the pain that makes it easier to continue existing, but is the culprit really as bad as it is believed? That is the question that this book addresses.

I cried both with Kenna and with the other characters, my heart broke a thousand times to think of all the bad things they had to go through. It's hard at first to understand Kenna's thoughts after what happened, she is perceived as a "villain" and I loved that the more I read the more I realized that this is not a story of good guys and bad guys, it's a story about people that they were wrong but that those mistakes do not precisely define them as bad people.

I really liked the relationship between Kenna and Ledger, however, for the context of the story I would have preferred a somewhat slower romance. Even so, its dynamics is for me one of the best qualities that this book has.

Although I liked the book, I would have liked to read more about what Kenna experienced in prison, but above all I feel that it was necessary to include some chapters with the point of view of Grace and Patrick. I read the story from Kenna and Ledger's perspective but I feel like it was imperative to the story to know exactly how they felt during and after what happened.

I suffered a lot with this book and I actually loved it for it, it's not my favorite CoHo book but it's definitely a heartbreakingly beautiful story. ...more

This is my first Colleen Hoover book and all I can say is wow. I never knew I could love a book so much. This book is raw and real and I think that's the true beauty of it. There are struggles and love and no true enemy. I love that Kenna is so grateful to Scotty's family. She could very easily make them out to be the villain for keeping her from her daughter, however, she's able to understand their thoughts and feelings and focus on the fact that Diem has amazing people taking care of her. So I have heard a lot of people rant and rave about Coho books. From the reviews I have read this has been a book that has not been as well received as others.

So I read this this month as part of my book club even though I missed the meeting cause of work 👎🏼

by the end of this book I was just sniffing the whole entire time there isn't much to say but I love kenna and even without reading all of colleen's other books Kenna is definitely one of her best fmc the only thing I kept thinking about while reading is how it could've been better if there wasn't as much romance involved idk I think a story without the romance being a part of the plot would've made the story a bit different but either way I love how everything played out in this book
