To preface: if you're going into this expecting the focus to be on Spencer fighting a legal battle to get to play soccer, know that that is really not the center of this story (view spoiler) The heart of the story is Spencer and his relationships, whether they're with his parents, his brother Theo, Justice, or his teammates. A wonderful positive story about a trans guy, soccer, school crushes, racism, and community/allyship geared towards the younger end of the YA demographic.

The conflicts, lessons and dialogue felt a bit young for me personally, but that’s on me for being an adult who likes YA novels.🤎
