Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone takes the reader into a world so different from ours, but so relatable. There are people who live in a normal city doing their normal routine and there are wizards who live a very different lifestyle. There is never a dull moment, I found myself reading continually because there are twists and turns that keep the reader excited and engaged.

Harry Potter is a young boy who was orphaned and taken in by his aunt and uncle. The introduction felt to me like a Cinderella storyline with Harry living with cruel parents but gets saved with a letter to send him to Hogwarts. At first I found it kind of bland with not a lot happening but the author manages to grasp my attention when Harry actually starts to receive notes from Hogwarts. I really liked how the author showed Harry’s emotion in the book. For example when Harry goes onto the train platforms. The author used a strong vocabulary to make the reader actually feel the fear and the nervousness that he felt when he was trying to find the platform. When Harry receives the letter that he is accepted to the finest institution of teaching young witches and wizards he feels that he can’t compete with all the other kids because he wasn’t born into a “magical family”. I really liked how during the course that I was reading there was very few times where I put down the book because it was boring. Before the end of the year Harry will meet dragons, fly brooms, meet a centaur and much more. What I didn’t care for was how sometimes an idea didn’t really fit with the overall idea. For example there was a chapter in which Harry and gang have to deliver a dragon for Hagrid. I found that it sort of was out of place and it didn’t flow with anything that was previously done. It sort of to me gave the idea that the author had the idea to use a dragon somewhere but didn’t know where so she made this chapter. Another thing I have mixed feelings for is the fact that rarely does the three main characters stray away to do something by themselves. This does though mean that they build on each other’s weaknesses and use each other’s strengths. Personally My favorite part of the book was how J.K Rowling managed to describe everything in enough detail that I can picture the scene and the characters down to every detail.

In conclusion Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone is a great book with a lot of positive and negative bits but overall it is a great book. It has lots of quirky characters, a gripping storyline Great vocabulary with words for younger readers and words for older readers. Overall Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone is a great book with lots to offer and has a different variety of ideas that will make you want to keep reading. What makes Harry Potter a success is that it is a series of seven books that will keep you entertained for a while. I would rate Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone a 4 out of 5. This book is acceptable for many different ages. I feel like the prime age group that would really enjoy the Harry Potter series is the 8-14 age group. This is because J.K Rowling has wrote the books in a way that challenge the reader but also keep the reader entertained and engaged in a way that few books have made me feel.

In this process they met a first year witch Hermione she comes from a family of muggles, but she is very well educated compared to every on else. Harry also becomes a seeker on the qidich team and he was one of the best at the job. He was a champion and he was the only seeker to catch the snitch twice. Harry also later on learns he’s a hero because he survived lord Voldemort’s terror but sadly his parents did not. In this book Harry, Ron and Hermione are very curios to learn more about Voldemort and how Harry he survived. But in the process harry and the gang learns about the philosopher’s stone. Once you obtain it, you can live forever. Later they learn Professor Snape is trying to acquire it, so he can bring lord Voldemort back to life. But Harry, Ron and Hermione are on to it, so they try to beat Professor Snape to the stone well trying to complete a series of challenges along the way.

I enjoyed this book very much because, when needed the book always has a big plot twist, also it is very well thought out. This book has a great mix of adventure and fantasy. Every day the gang is always up to something because their curiosity drives them to do that. Hagrid one of the secondary characters annoyed me because the way the author vocalized him. I enjoyed the setting as well. Hogwarts is a very magical place the author really made me fell like I was there, with all the detail along the way.

This book is an awesome book for people that are staring to read more fantasy. It has a simple idea to it and it’s not too long and complex. Fantasy lovers would love this book. If you enjoyed Enders Game you would also enjoy this book. The book has fantasy, adventure and action. If you like adventure, action and fantasy magic books this book will be for you. I rate the book 4 out of 5 stars because it’s an easy, very simple idea and it has a bit of everything in it, and that’s what makes the book so awesome. I would give it 5 out of 5, but not everything is perfect, like I said. But to some advance fiction readers this book can be a little lame. This is why I enjoy the book, because it gives everyone a different emotion, some people happiness others anger because they are hungry for more.

Living with their family for ten years of torture he encounters odd events happening when he gets mad, described as “Magic”. In the "Sorcerers stone" book one of the series it brings you into a world where magic is within each wizard that roams Hogwarts. This novel takes you on a journey where a unique boy finds his true self and uncovers who he is.

At the start Harry is confused about who he is supposed to be, he thinks he has no special talents or anything he considers himself a failure as a person. Then it gets brought to his attention who he really is, a wizard.
He goes from a failure to felling like he has a purpose in life and he can actually do something good.

In this book harry is always just digging up more searching for information when he finds clues about the stone. Going out of his way even if it breaks the rules, to find clues it shows his determination throughout the whole book not only shows how he is inspired. Also how you can inspire the people around you, for example Hermione goes from a goody toe shows to not being afraid to break rules for a good cause, from Harrys influence. Harry and friends all show huge amounts of determination of finding out about this stone in this book.

One of the things that living with the Dursleys taught Harry is how to stand up for himself, and be the bigger person for a lot of situations. Harry feels free to express himself however it may be, be prepared to go on a journey linked with the ups and downs of a roller coaster filled with suspense as harry solves mysteries, and digs for a deeper meaning behind tales. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers stone was overall an amazing read for myself. I thoroughly enjoyed and connected with Harry as a young boy because I felt a connection between curiosity and us because of his drive ambition.

A couple of improvement spots were perhaps the weak word choices of words used throughout the novel. I will say at the start it was pretty slow for the first 50 pages it was brutally boring. Once it did get in the action I felt like I was really involved with it all until the end of the book. I also think the story is an amazing idea that revolutionized all fantasy books. This idea and concept of magic and the ability to create vivid imaginations throughout children and adults everywhere in society. Harry Potter conveys a great message about not only friendship but also the aspect of Adventure, and that adventure has no limit. One of the big messages i see in the book also is about never giving up the search to find your passion in life. I rate Harry potter book 1, the "Sorcerers Stone" 5 out of 5 because although the start was boring, I felt like it was necessary for the epicness of the book to stay exciting and action packed throughout the whole novel which it did.
