I really wanted to love this one.
The pacing was slow. We start the book learning that journalist Cecily is going to climb a mountain with Charles in order to write a story about him.
Then Charles isn’t even in the store or on the mountain until page 199.
Can I just say that in 2022 I’m REALLY tired of reading novels where nobody believes a word a woman says and acts like she’s hysterical and unreliable. Cecily then doubts herself at every turn and being in her head became frustrating.

It was meh. Pretty predictable that Charles wasn’t a good guy and the whole book was about climbing up and down, up and down. Not very suspenseful.
