Book club choice, not my usual genre.
I rated this book a 4 because the writing is beautiful and it is a lovely romance novel. If not for that, I would rate it 3 stars. This is essentially a WW1 or WW2 story, not my cup of tea. The fantasy was much too light for me to even really consider it Romantacy, although I have hopes for Ruthless Vows to add more fantasy elements into the story.

I just couldn't get into it as hard as I tried. I know it's a well loved book, but I personally found it boring. I think give it a chance as everyone has different taste and tropes they enjoy, this particular one wasn't for me
