What a good book! The story is written from the perspective of three main characters and it works very well. Set in the 1860s, it is about a circus, it’s ring master and a human wonder turned performer over the course of about three months. The theme of destiny was intertwined throughout; owning your own destiny, making decisions for other people, letting others speak for you, thinking you control someone’s destiny when you don’t, and realizing you have the ability to control your own narrative.
