I felt invested in Addie’s story right away, but this was a slow burn for me. This story has multiple timelines alternating between early life of Addie and present day Addie. This story is primarily Addie’s but get ready to feel fully invested in Henry’s story. This one really picked up in the second half for me, and I found myself not wanting to put it down. I have a lot of feelings about the ending, but was so impressed by V.E. Schwab’s storytelling ability and beautiful style of writing.

First and foremost, I'd like to thank my most bestest friend and bookish buddy whose name is also Addie, but who I'm pretty sure is NOT Addie LaRue, for recommending this book to me and subsequently putting me through some serious emotional turmoil. Very enjoyable, interesting premise. Flashing forward and back in time made it a very compelling read and hard to put down. The writing was pretty, but lacked some of the gravitas it thought it had. Understand they hype, look forward to the movie.
