It honestly felt like this story was written for me. Addie is such a relatable, independent, and thoughtful character, and the way she talks about her love for books, films, and music—I adored all of it.
The book somehow manages to feel both vast and intimate, magical yet grounded in reality. The writing was beautiful, and I loved how tragically Addie’s story unfolded. To preface this, I am not a V.E. Schwab fan, but this book was amazing. While I found the first two parts of the book to be overly descriptive and boring at times the last few parts more than made up for it.
This was one of those books for me, I started reading this book in the last week of August 2021. I made it 75 pages in and I thought this was going to be a DNF for me.
