this book gives you depression!!!! dont read it!!!!

growing up sucks and this book doesnt help at all. i just wanted to cry all the time because i know i would've done the same thing just to live a little. it made me feel so insignificant and worthless yet i loved every single page, and im really glad i read it again,,...

this book has ruined my LIFE (i loved it).

hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have -- but i have it by lana del rey IS THAT YOU???

i can barely process right now but honestly other than the fact that the first half was a bit too slow for my liking this book is getting 10s across the board like TRUST i will be thinking about this book for months to come. i think all of us can sort of see ourselves in addie larue; a girl who just wanted to be free, see the world and feared that there w ...more

The story of Addie Larue is heartbreaking. She was born in the 1700’s, a very hard time for a girl. Her purpose was to be a good, young lady, and eventually marry and become a mother. But, that was not the fate she pursued.

At 17, Addie is forced into an arranged marriage by her parents, and she flees. She then prays to evil gods to have freedom, more time, a different life. Luc answers (yes, there’s definitely a connection there with the name.) He gives her freedom with This book tore me apart.

At 17, Addie is forced into an arranged marriage by her parents, and she flees. She then prays to evil gods to have freedom, more time, a different life. Luc answers (yes, there’s definitely a connection there with the name.) He gives her freedom with immortality, as long as he receives her soul when she’s ready to die.

I just have to say I love Luc. An asshole, yes, but a very attractive, compelling, toxic asshole. That’s always the perfect love interest.

Anyways, Luc makes her wish come true, but not in the way she asked. She is suddenly a ghost. When someone meets her, she is forgotten as soon as they loose sight of her. She is unable to form any type of relationships that last more than one night. Thus, her whole family, and everyone she has ever known, has forgotten her. That is now all in the past.

So, Addie has to go through life without ever having a single person, she can’t own a house, she can’t keep her own belongings, nothing. She suffers years of being haunted by Luc and his games. Because, in Luc’s crazy, toxic way, he loves Addie and wants her all to himself. However, she won’t give in, refusing to give up her soul. She lives through 300 years of loneliness. Then, she meets a boy. Henry, someone who finally remembers her.

They have incredible romance, but Addie doesn’t understand why now, this random person is remembering her. Crazy plot twist: Henry also made a deal with Luc. No one ever loved Henry. He was at the point of suicide, when Luc found him. So he made a deal for everyone to love him, but he only has one year to live. However, they don’t love him genuinely. It’s as if everyone around Henry is hypnotized into loving him, it’s just not real.

So, Addie has finally found someone who remembers her, and Henry has finally found someone who truly loves him.

They fight to stay together, and although it doesn’t turn out exactly that way, I’d sure they’ll meet again.

This book is amazing. I would definitely recommend it. ...more

Mi conclusión es que el libro es RARO, llore pero al mismo tiempo casi me da un bloqueo lector. Es muy LENTO y me costo mucho querer seguir leyendo.
En fin le doy 2 estrellas porque no me gusto en general (lloro)
