What Members Thought

This book. I have no words. This book takes us along countries, centuries and memories. I am completely in awe of the author. Addie LaRue will always have a special place in my heart.

beautiful Beautiful BEAUTIFUL🥲😭🥰💗
My heart SHATTERED while reading this slow-burn, atmospheric, cozy, and VERY well-written fantasy fiction...
I did have some problems with it though, for example, it was pretty unthinkable to comprehend how Addie did not travel around the world AT ALL in over 300 years she has been alive. As I get it you're lonely and all, people forget you and stuf ...more

This was a beautiful book, the writing style was so poetic and really thought provoking and it helped to shape the story nicely. Also the plot is just super cool to begin with and I liked the flashbacks where we got the build-up of Addie’s life while also getting the present day. That being said the beginning was painfully slow and I probably would have DNF’ed it had I not heard wonderful things about it from a friend. Once we were introduced to the love interest Henry I was immediately engaged

I want to start with the fact, that this book describes so many feeling, emotions and worries I have, but can’t put into words. The language of this book is beautiful - every word perfectly chosen so you can follow the lead of the story.
It is a book about time and the meaning of existence. It’s a book about bad choices and faith for a better tomorrow. It’s a book about forgetting and remembering; existing and living. It captures the time in different dimensions.

my expectations for this one were high which usually isn't
a good thing because i'm usually then disappointed but in
this case it actually met my expectations.
"Don't you remember, she told him then, when you were
nothing but shadow and smoke? Darling, he'd said in his
soft, rich way, I was the night itself."
there are lots of time jumps so you have to be paying
attention but its not difficult at all. it wasn't a can't-put-it-
down book for me but i wasn't bored at any point either.

loved it so much. my go to romance book recommendation. beautifully written but still has an interesting plot- this may be a stretch but i'd say it's even in leagues with a picture of dorian gray and books of that nature. solid 10/10.
