The story of this book is so moving and is something that will stick with you for a long time. I sat there for like 20 minutes processing this after I finished it.

However, there was some weird stuff in this too which prevent me giving 5 stars. SPOILER WARNING

1. The name of Lily's child. Emerson Dory Bloom. Yes, that's right her middle name is freaking Dory. I laughed when I read that. Also, why would you name your child after your abusive ex-husband's dead brother WHO HE KILLED??? What's up with

What I enjoyed most about this book are the lessons and meanings behind it. It shows you a new perspective into toxic and abusive relationships, shows you the how’s and why’s and offers you insight into the “naked truths” into why the partner wouldn’t leave the other. It highlights the struggles one faces mentally when put in a situation like lily’s and lily’s mother. It describes how it’s not easy for one to immediately leave, and describes the mental struggles facing those issues.
