DOMESTIC ABUSE NOT A ROMANCE BOOK!!!
this book showed me the battle that people have to fight everyday when it comes to abusive relationships. it completely breaks my heart to know where this story comes from and my heart goes out to colleen hoover and to anyone else in the world who has or is currently going through this. <3

I'm looking back at a couple of the reviews I've written in the last couple of years, and PLEASE IGNORE THE PARTS IN THE REVIEW FROM 2021-22!!!!
While yes, I admit I really enjoyed this book when I read it the first and only three times, I am now a changed person. I first read it when I was 16, and now at almost 20, I learned the importance of discerning what is good for you and what isn't. What I enjoyed most about this book are the lessons and meanings behind it. It shows you a new perspective into toxic and abusive relationships, shows you the how’s and why’s and offers you insight into the “naked truths” into why the partner wouldn’t leave the other. It highlights the struggles one faces mentally when put in a situation like lily’s and lily’s mother. It describes how it’s not easy for one to immediately leave, and describes the mental struggles facing those issues.

ummmmmmm. I thought this book was supposed to destroy me mentally. It did nothing of the sort. It wasn’t bad, like, I enjoyed reading it. But it wasn’t amazing. Personally there were way too many smut scenes, as in, I was so bored of them having sex all the time. I also found that lily repeated the same stuff so many times. It just felt like I kept on reading the same ‘deep’ quotes again and again, slightly re phrased. That being said I still liked this book.

aaa this book was so beautiful and completly changed my view on these relationships. it was so well written and i would def recommend it to everyone :)
