Well, honestly as soon as I finished reading this book, it left me speechless. It took me 2-3 minutes to process everything I have read in this book. I don't know what to feel. Happy? Sad? Disappointed? I have mixed emotions for it! BUT I am really sad for these characters. As I am reading this book, it reminds me Too Late written also by you, Colleen. Too much pain, hatred and hurt. Ok, go ahead, break my heart Colleen Hoover.

Humans are complicated. We can love someone and hate them at the same time. They can be deserving of redemption and not deserving of forgiveness at the same time.

I figured this was going to be a heartbreaker, but the way this book started and how it progressed until about the 55% mark, I was filled with excitement and joy, which only led to increased trepidation.

I never write reviews and I hardly ever rate books less than 4 stars, but I am in disbelief that this is Colleen’s most popular book.

It Ends With Us tells a story that needs to be told, but I don’t like that its content’s were almost treated like a plot-twist. This book is not. a. romance. even though it’s advertised that way.

Naked truth... I have never felt so much pain while reading any other book. Coincidentally as soon as I finished reading it, it started raining and I couldn't think of anything better than that to encompass my emotions and thoughts about this book. I finished this book in less than a day because from the first chapter I was hooked. The characters, the conversations between them, the way the story progresses and everything that Colleen Hoover addresses in the book left me spellbound. I am so glad ...more

So, this was my first Colleen Hoover. Ever. And…

It was incredibly average for me as a story. But..

I really really really really like her writing.

The subject matter is serious and it was a nice break from all of the fantasy I read this year. Yet, I really don’t like these characters and that was my biggest problem.

The whole time I felt like I was watching a lifetime movie. I’m not trying to undermine the perspective that the author lent on this subject matter. It was interesting to explor 3 ⭐️s

The subject matter is serious and it was a nice break from all of the fantasy I read this year. Yet, I really don’t like these characters and that was my biggest problem.

The whole time I felt like I was watching a lifetime movie. I’m not trying to undermine the perspective that the author lent on this subject matter. It was interesting to explore this perspective and I enjoyed the healthy approach to a dark, uncomfortable, and very real topic.

Yet, it was brief and predictable.

These characters were so… white privilege and cookie cutter… for lack of a better description. That really took away from the story in a lot of ways for me. Maybe she was trying to say something about how seemingly perfect lives are not that perfect behind closed doors??? I am unsure. I just know that I would have preferred if she left out everything about the money and the rich ex and the rich friends. For me, it made the characters seem less like the genuine good people she was describing because of the way she portrayed them. I’m not saying stupidly rich people are bad or don’t have issues. I am only saying I would have preferred if she left out the focus on how much money they had CONSTANTLY and EFFORTLESSLY.

Also, I really don’t understand the need for all of the sex scenes because most did not lend anything to the story. It slowed things down and made me dislike the relationship even more so because it was all superficial to me.

I did like the way the story opened. I did like the resolution. I did like the journal entries and some of the moments where the character’s raw emotions lent to a sense of vulnerability that was very beautiful in a sad way because it opens your heart and mind to perspective we don’t often consider.

After finishing this, I think I’ll try one more Colleen Hoover because this was not terrible; but I don’t think it was for me. ...more

This was my first CoHo book. I’ve heard from everyone that this one shatters you and they weren’t kidding. I went into this a bit blind and didn’t expect this book to be what it was if I’m being completely honest. But this book is raw, emotional, heart breaking, and healing all in one. So glad this was my first book by CoHo. And I can’t wait to read more about Atlas in the fall.
